About Susan

Susan Machler co-founded Osborn Machler & Neff and built her career advocating for people whose lives have been upended by serious injury. She represented clients in complex personal injury and civil litigation matters, including motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, product liability, and negligence cases. A seasoned trial lawyer, she prepared every case for the courtroom and brought extensive experience securing results through both trial and arbitration.

Susan also brought deep appellate experience to her work. She authored briefs and argued cases on appeal for Osborn Machler & Neff and other firms, strengthening outcomes at every stage of litigation.

She remained committed to expanding access to justice throughout her career. Susan provided pro bono legal services to individuals with disabilities and their families, and worked with clients navigating child support and custody matters.

A recognized leader in the legal community, Susan frequently wrote and spoke on issues affecting trial lawyers. She contributed two chapters to the Washington State Association for Justice Products Liability Deskbook and presented at leading seminars, including the WSAJ annual convention.

Susan is admitted to practice in Washington and Montana, as well as in federal district courts and the U.S. Courts of Appeals. She served on the Boards of Governors for both the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington State Association for Justice, and most recently served as vice chair of the WSAJ Products Liability Section.

She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law, where she served on the law review and competed in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho.

Outside the courtroom, Susan has remained active in her community. She serves as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Kent, supports food access initiatives in the Federal Way area, and is an award-winning artist.
